Brick Chimney

The most common material of what chimneys are usually made of is the usually burned red brick. The reason behind it might be that they are not expensive and in addition they are quite heat resistant and can live through high temperatures. Also bricks come in different sizes and colors, so everybody can find the one that is exactly right for their house.

Although that brick chimneys may seem permanent, actually they need quite a lot of maintenance and constant repair work to have it in proper order so there would be no fire hazard caused by a broken brick chimney and to extend its life period.

Two types of bricks are used for building chimneys: rectangular bricks and radial bricks. The difference between the previously named types of bricks is the shape and the kinds of chimneys they are used to build as rectangular bricks are made for usually chimneys and radial for more oval ones.

Brick chimneys have a very traditional look and are suitable for most of the houses. They are not very hard to build and do not need a lot of labor. Usually brick chimneys are made by builders who have done it for a long time and have mastered that craft. Therefore, try to look one of that kind of a builder and have a brick chimney built.
