How do i get my chimney to draw properly

I have a wood burning chimney in my home which is approximately 24 yrs old. Every time we build a fire, the house gets a little smokey. Not immediately, but towards the end of the evening, our eyes tend to get irritated, etc. I had it cleaned, that did not change anything. The fireplace is on the south side of the house. We have a cap on it. We also have glass doors. You can see the smoke being drawn back into the room when you open the doors. Also, you can see some of the smoke rolling back down towards the door rather than up the chimney. It just doesnt draw well enough.
